1967 Chevrolet Corvette for sale! Motorcar Classics is proud to present this magnificent 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe representing the holy grail of American muscle and the absolute peak of second-generation Sting Ray design. Finished in ultra-desirable, factory-correct Tuxedo Black (Paint Code 900) over Black Leather upholstery (Trim Code 402) and crowned with a striking Red Stinger hood, this rare "Triple Black" big-block coupe is one of the most visually stunning and sought-after specifications ever produced by General Motors.
Under the Stinger hood resides the matching-numbers 427 cubic-inch L71 V8 engine, factory-rated at a ferocious 435 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with the legendary "Tri-Power" setup featuring three two-barrel Holley carburetors atop an aluminum intake manifold and paired with a crisp 4-speed manual transmission, this Corvette delivers visceral performance amplified by factory side-exit exhaust pipes with original-style heat shields and transistor ignition. The chassis features power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and an independent rear suspension with a transverse leaf spring. The corvette has a positraction 3.70 ratio AO rear axle.
The car rides on classic 15-inch turbine-style wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown radial redline tires, striking the perfect balance between original aesthetics and modern drivability.
The car rides on classic 15-inch turbine-style wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown radial redline tires, striking the perfect balance between original aesthetics and modern drivability.
This Corvette benefits from a labor-intensive frame-off restoration reportedly requiring more than 2,200 man-hours and over $70,000 in parts and materials. Every detail was meticulously addressed to meet stringent judging standards, down to correct head markings on the hardware throughout the vehicle and an undercarriage that remains as immaculate as the exterior. The car’s extraordinary quality is validated by multiple NCRS Top Flight awards, including a regional Top Flight ribbon in April 2006 and an impressive 95.1 score at the April 2013 Northern California Chapter meet.
For the serious collector, 1967 stands as the final and most refined year of the C2 generation, and an original L71 427/435 HP coupe in factory Tuxedo Black represents an elite tier of investment-grade Corvettes. Beyond its mechanical prowess, this example is exceptionally optioned with hard-to-find power steering, power brakes, power windows, tinted glass, and a vertical push-button AM/FM radio.
Accompanying the sale is a rich documentation package, including a photocopy of the original factory tank sticker, the original Protect-O-Plate, manufacturer's literature, a reproduction window sticker, dynamic dyno test results, and official NCRS judging sheets, making it a turnkey crown jewel ready for high-level concours display or private collection preservation.
