1960 Jaguar Mark II Sedan for sale. Motorcar Classics is proud to present this stunning 1960 Jaguar Mark II sedan featured in Light Blue Metallic with Blue leather interior. Our Mk II is an exquisitely restored example, which displays the care and time spent without regard to cost bringing the car to its current condition. It is a never rusted, dry climate California-Arizona car. Comprehensively rebuilt engine, transmission, suspension, brake and electrical systems. New dark blue interior including leather, carpets, and meticulously finished burl wood. Desirable up-dates include A/C, alternator and rack and pinion steering. Other unique features on this car are Lucas Fog Ranger fog lamps, cutaway spats, sparkling chrome wire wheels, Derrington steering wheel and reclining seats. Note the folding picnic tables built in to the back of the front seats.

Jaguars Mark II can be considered one of the earliest compact sport sedans. Its handsome styling and sparkling performance, particularly when properly equipped, demonstrated that smaller did not necessarily mean inferior. The Mark 1 was introduced in 1956 as a small sedan to expand Jaguars model line and met with reasonable but not outstanding success. The styling was reworked and the mechanical specification improved for 1959 and the new variant, called the Mark 2, which was not only significantly more attractive and modern in appearance, but also proved to be extremely popular. The car was available in 2.4, 3.4, and 3.8 liter forms, with the 3.8 liter variant, essentially Jaguars largest engine in their smallest sedan, being a genuinely high performance car with excellent roadholding, braking, and straight line performance. Indeed, the cars proved to be quite successful in saloon car racing and were widely used both by criminals, as getaway cars, and by police, to keep up with them! For these reasons, Mark 2s, especially the 3.8L variants, are valuable and supremely collectible, with their iconic styling and performance. Ours is the finest we have seen and is ideal for the perfection minded enthusiast.
