1960 Buick Electra 225 Convertible for sale! Motorcar Classics is proud to present this beautiful 1960 Buick Electra 225 convertible featured in Tampico Red with a red and white leather interior and white convertible top. The car benefits from a fresh complete restoration to its original specifications with no expense spared. All the original components were either rebuilt or replaced as needed. The engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt.

This car was highly optioned from new including factory bucket seats with center armrest, air conditioning, Wonderbar radio with foot switch and power antenna, Posi-traction differential, Guide-Matic headlight control, Twilight Sentinel, power vent windows, full tinted glass, compass, and even the no-cost option of body-colored wheels which look great with the Super Deluxe wheel covers and the correct wide whitewall tires. The original owner literally checked every box when ordering this car.

Standard equipment on all 1960 Buick Electra 225 convertibles was the 401 cubic inch 4 barrel V8 developing 325 hp, Dynaflow automatic transmission, dual exhaust, speed alert, power windows, power seat, power top, power steering and brakes, Super Deluxe spinner wheel covers, and leather interior.

Compared to other cars of the era, Buick was an exceptional performer. Buick brakes were the best in the industry, featuring oversize, aluminum finned front drums with large lining area for record-breaking stopping performance.  Relatively fast steering ratios and stock front anti-sway bar make for noticeably better handling response than other cars of the era.  All-coil spring suspension was an advance in luxury compared with other makes that still used leaf springs in the rear.  And if youve never experienced a Dynaflow transmission, be prepared for the smoothest acceleration ever it is the forerunner of todays CVTs.  No shifting through gears, just a smooth, variable pitch glide from zero to top speed.  Acceleration around town is respectable considering this is a full-size car.  But at speeds over 60 MPH, impressive is the word open the secondaries and the car pulls strong!

All 1960 Buicks were equipped with Mirror-Magic speedometer, which permitted adjustment of the speedometer position via a movable mirror.  Slide the knurled knob, and the speedometer view adjusts to your eye level. For the true Buick enthusiast, this is a rare opportunity to own a show quality, fresh example of one of the most desirable Buick convertibles ever produced.
